Hi,
Probably its not finding the path where zlib is installed. Try to locate 
where zlib files are located.

I think you need  the development package for zlib. Install it by:

||apt-get install zlib1g-dev||

||||Also tell me the result after running :
||
./configure
||
You should get an error there first, if you get, you should not proceed 
for make until all errors from configure script are resolved.

Installed Compress::Zlib through cpan. But still the same error, when
