at present, u can do anything with both the tools
but though there are some differences
1. wordpress can install / upgrade the module / plug-in automatically which
drupal cannot.
2. 80% of content in wordpress is already in compliance with SEO. i.e
permalinks, custom URL etc. drupal needs pathauto to achieve this.
3. drupal's block is kind of wordpress's widget. placement depends on the
theme file.
4. wordpress can be upgraded automatically whereas drupal cannot.
5. wordpress is a blog publishing platform where drupal is a content
management system which can be used for building sites like

6. both the tools are effective with contributed modules.
7. both have developer documentation. but i felt that wordpress development
is easier than drupal
8. powerful modules like views, panel, cck are there for drupal which makes
it efficient. but wordpress doesnt have that.
9. code management with drupal is easy compared to wordpress. because all 3p
/ custom modules / themes are in different location. you will not touch the
core files. drupal provides bug fix release every month i guess.
may be some one can add more... or correct me if i am wrong.
