Sorry, a typo. I meant that I have migrated users by putting a proxy in
front of lotus notes servers (and not your lotus note server).
Is there any pun in Lotus Notes Servers and Lotus Note Server?
No nothing at all. Just typos due to my habit of typing fast

The way I have migrated users out of Lotus Notes / Exchange is setting up a
small desktop with IndiMail
1. Setup indimail
2. add users to indimail datastore using a utility called hostcntrl
3. startup proxy imap and proxy pop3
4. change IP address or configuration so that all users who do imap and
pop3 to land on the indimail server. The proxy for imap/pop3 on indimail
will transparently connect the users to lotus notes or exchage. Set the
DEBUG environment variable in the proxy imap and proxy pop3 service. This
will start logging all user passwords
5. write a fetchmailrc file which will pull all user mails using the
password captured in step 4.
6. setup your own IMAP/POP3 server using the password captured in step 4
and hey you are now migrated out of Lotus Notes or Exchange
