Greetings,
Every day I receive several bounces from subscribers of ilugc whose
mailboxes have become full or have some problem or another. I
currently have a ruthless policy. I wait for a while and if I receive
more than 25 bounces from a particular subscriber, I unsubscribe the
offending address. So if you find yourself suddenly receiving no
email from ilugc, it was probably me.
I could set the user on vacation (via the no_mail option) but that
leads nowhere since I have no way of knowing later that the subsciber
has lost interest in ilugc.
Also note that this is the only reason for a subscriber to be bumped
off the list. Thus far no one has been (and hopefully will ever be)
unsubscribed out of a difference of opinion (or "bad" behavior). So,
if you do find yourself at the receiving end of this treatment, please
remember this and feel free to re-subscribe when your mailbox
stabilizes.
While I'm at it, I'd like to bring to your notice that some of the
threads on ilugc are quite off-topic. Please remember, this is ILUGC
which stands for Indian Linux Users Group - Chennai and not
I-Love-Using-Google-and-my-Computer. Atleast have the decency to mark
these threads OT so people with real work can safely delete them. ;->
cheers,
prabhu
