yes, there is nothing to indicate that this type of pause should happen.

Have you checked if there are extra punctuation marks, or extra hard returns
at those places?

All,
I've noticed that for no particular reason, Icon will pause for a few
seconds during continuous reading.  It most often happens during reading of
an rss article just before the informatin about the authors at the end of
some articles but it has also happened in other situations.
