Hello everyone, This is to inform and remind you that the recent revised BIRD drafts which were distributed on this email list have been all uploaded to the ATM web site: http://www.vhdl.org/pub/ibis/macromodel_wip/archive/20110613/arpadmurany i/Add%20Boolean%20to%20BNF%20for%20IBIS%20AMI%20BIRD%20draft%204/AMI_Boo leanInBNF_BIRD_04.pdf http://www.vhdl.org/pub/ibis/macromodel_wip/archive/20110613/ambrishvarm a/Defining%20Relationships%20between%20Type%20and%20Format%20BIRD%20draf t%204/Type_Format_Table_BIRD_04.txt http://www.vhdl.org/pub/ibis/macromodel_wip/archive/20110613/arpadmurany i/Out-InOut%20BIRD%20draft%2010/Out_InOut_BIRD_10.pdf (the discussion on this one will take place after the correction BIRD drafts have been all submitted). In addition, a new revision of the AMI_ParametersOut_BIRD draft has been just uploaded to the ATM website: http://www.vhdl.org/pub/ibis/macromodel_wip/archive/20110614/arpadmurany i/AMI_parameters_out%20Clarification%20BIRD%20draft%204/AMI_ParametersOu t_BIRD_04.pdf In this one I changed the first paragraph of the following sections: |* 3.1.2.7 AMI_parameters_out |* ========================== |* 3.1.2.9 msg |* =========== |* 3.2.2.4 AMI_parameters_out |* ========================== to make it clearer (especially for **msg) which AMI function may use these arguments. The question regarding this BIRD draft I would like to answer in today's ATM meeting is whether it is sufficient to say which function "may use" these string pointers, or whether we also have to say which functions are "NOT allowed" to use them. For example, should the description under **msg also say that AMI_GetWave is not allowed to put a string pointer into the address pointed to by the argument? As they say, if it can be done, it will be done... Should we take the precautions and prevent that from happening? Please be ready to discuss these BIRD drafts in the meeting today and possibly vote on them for submission to the Open Forum if there are no more questions. Thanks, Arpad ====================================================================
