Ok, I will try to fit everything ino this email…
That your friend is digging the story is really cool to me. The real problem is
that it is hard to add things to an already developed stryline. On top of that
the balance thing is already in a state of flux and adding quest powers and
large number of powerful attacks mweans tat the characters really are unable to
interact in a combat situation.
Ontop of that, the charactersbring in a whole cosmos of things that I was not
planning on introducing. Starfleet for example, and the mysterious quest force.
That being said, I don’t mind if he wants to modify what I make to fit his
version of events.
I will explain what I mean…
I forgot the authors name, but this one guy wrote a book about Dracula. He
actually took Bram Stokers storyline, and changed the perspective to that of
the vampire. He made it so that the Dracula in the original story, came across
as something/someone completely different.
I think the author was Saberhagen but I cant remember off the top of my head.
Orson Scott Card also did this with his Ender series, telling the same story
from two different perspectives.
So I dontthink I can include it in the original story…except that I could make
a reference to one or both of them where I think someone who played his would
recognize them. A cameo in other words.
If that wont do, I would be happy to help you guys develop a storyline start to
finish for his own original content, and I wouldt mind helping were I could. I
tend to write a lot, and I think we can come up with a story he could have that
would be a nice outline. Not too rigid that he couldn’t change things, but not
so open he would get frustrated and give up.
I will check out what I got. I cant recall what the teleport in diablo sounds
like but I am sure I can find it, Diablo was hugely popular back in the day.
Geez, they must have a zillion sequels by now, grin.
Final fantasy! I played one on the SNES when I was much younger, but the one I
really liked was final fantasy 7. It was on the original playstation, featured
several CD discs and had a character named Cloud who had this massive sword.
That game was a lot of fun.
Man, I’m old. Sigh.
Actually, my offer extends to you as well Ron. I think it was you who was
building a mechwarrior map pack? Or was it something else..I recalled it was
some kind of mech suit or armor.

Now that my friend will be away for a week
I'll try to explain why he's hopeful for you to put it in the map pack
He has at least 30 map packs that he started with ideas and never finished or
continued them
What happens is that he gets stumped and frustrated because he doesn't know how
to continue it
When he played your map pack he was excited to add something to it that it
would be a part of the story A actual story that's already been planned out
farther than even he knows could be
I have tried to help him with his map packs Leah started and even my help
doesn't seem to help him
Where he usually says is that doesn't sound right
I will understand if you don't put it into your map pack
I thought I'd at least try and see if I can have one of his ideas actually get
farther than just sitting for a while
I apologize if my previous emails seem to find it or trying to force you to put
it into your map pack
I was just trying to help him . Ron

Hi Ron,
That’s Ok, I finally got a hold of it.
The user guide add on helped, thanks for writing that.
I am really honored your friend put their creative mind to work on the map pack.
I had to laugh, they had to take Skorg’s old room and the cheap Inn owner
hadn’t even bothered to clean the blood off the floor. That was perfect, grin.
I got the impression that the three characters come from a Japanese anime,
they had that feel to them. Was it inspired by something like that or am I
totally off the mark?
I saw an anime called all purpose cultural catgirl nuku nuku back in the day.
Jinx kind of reminds me of that character.
So Ron is Jinx’s father, but she has two fathers. Does that mean genetically or
one is a step father? I wasn’t sure. So Jinx’s mother is a psycho, got it, grin.
If your friend continues, I am interested in finding out the mystery behind the
quest power. It seems like a different magic that is alien to the game world.
That seems like a real neat idea for a , well, a quest, grin.
The scifi thing threw me a little, wasn’t expecting that. I wasn’t really sure
why any of the characters are on the planet. Did a space ship break down?
Are they following an emergency beacon? Did they detect a source of quest
energy which made them want to check it out? I was just curious .
There were a few things that I noticed while playing.
The extra heated damage effect had a few things I want to point out.
The additional_description script flag doesn’t need underscores. That is,
unless they wanted it in there for some reason. Screen readers and voices and I
suspect braille probably output differently, but when I play the underscores
are all announced.
On the other hand, the friendly_name= flag doesn’t recognize spaces. I don’t
know about anyone else, but I tend to make each word capitalized on the first
letter and run them together. They still sound good, at least, to me, but again
that could all be personal preference.
I think the heated blade might use the fire damage type due to the intense heat
of the blade, but that’s just my opinion.
Also, Ron Hoke needed a divine point. The point being that this kept the Smite
Evil from being used a billion times a round. Although, it was nice blowing
ogres into tiny bits, grin.
I would also change the names of the two assassins. Kanjo is actually what I
named the one assassin, so it could be recognized later. Unless your friend is
making them assassin clones, which sounds like an adventure in itself.
I wouldn’t mind the descriptions getting a bit of editing …as if I was any
good at editing myself, but still it is what it is. I struggled with some of
it while reading.
The huge number of attacks was also a real workout. I think each character
could act 8 or 9 times at least per round. The fight was actually super easy. I
know it is an introduction map, so that isn’t a big deal. I tend to make things
too hard.
I don’t think the mod would work in the map pack as I have it. The balance and
feel are too different for me.
However, as it’s own storyline, or even a paralell storyline would be neat. I
would like to see your friend make more mods or build a storyline from this
intro map.
Also, I wanted to send some links for fantasy sounds. These are some new ones
that have spell castings, a bit of weapons, not a lot, and other sounds that
might be useful if he or she is willing to pursue the story they got started
on. I am always getting sounds so I am more then happy to share with other map
pack makers.

Hi I finally finished the ad on user guide
You will find it in the map pack folder itself
You might find it incomplete
There are miss spelled words some of them are misspelled on purpose
It is my first attempt at a user guide
I tried to make sure I have everything in there that was added in and maybe
more
There is pieces of information in there that I have copyright on
Thanks to my friend but I don't mind if you use it for this map pack if you
choose to
If you have questions please ask
I will do my best to answer any question or I will drag them out of my friend

Hi my friend tried your map pack here
He has decided to make add-ons to your map pack and wants me to send it to
you to take a look at it
He said he would like your opinion on what he put together even if you
don't
put it into your actual map pack
I thought I'd ask before I tried to send it to you . Ron

Hey all,
It is not finished, but here is the fantasy map pack.
Thanks to carlos I made some changes, which will make the maps more fun.
The map pack features a more dungeons and dragons feel. Mages hit M to
memorize their spells at the start of the encounter and clerics do the
same.
The cleric needs his holy symbol to cast, but the mage can memorize
spells
and switch out the spell book. The spell book oes provide her with very
valuable skills that allow her to push the limits.
Mages, once they cast a spel, that spell is gone for that encounter .
There
is a chance of failure in casting.
The cleric can reuse spells, even if he fails a casting. He has spell
slots
however, and so can only cast a certain amount out of each level of
spell.
There is a lot of spells. Try them all out.
The game features randomness, so be prepared for that.
The magic is the big concern. If it sucks, then I may have to shelf this
one
till I can work something else out.
So please tell me about it, I am kind of hanging till I find out if this
is
worth finishing.
One last thing. The jump skill is accessible to characters with leather
or
less armor. Those in heavier armor have to take the armor off to use
the
jump skill. The jump skill will pop up when chain or plate is taken off.
