Thank you, Sheri. The grooving was shallow down about 50% of the culmen. I
did not capture it in a
photo. (I'm pretty good at lots of things, but photography is not one of
them!)

grooves on bill, and pale feather edges indicate HY
Several small iridescent feathers on central throat (abt 10)
R-5 did not have the black point in the white tip
white tips on R-3,4,5
Still, a great bird for this area!
