Hi I filled in your survey I am afraid I should stop filling in surveys The questinons on ALL marketing surveys do not allow me to say what I think would be useful for instance: we are a company with a new zealand-wide presence, AND we are a company which is based overseas with NZ branches The list of possible job descriptions was very short links to a central computer with bluetooth seems pretty silly: bluetooth only goes 10 metres: maybe you meant bluetooth to a phone which is connected describing GPRS or CDMA as continuously connected to the network is optimistic. I am using both, and they both disconnect regularly after a few minutes inactivity, and the reconnect time is significant (much better than a land-line modem: but a landline modem is faster, generally). I have evaluated an iPaq myself in the last 12 months I am not recommending the technology for general use. The screen is simply too small to be able to get a lot of work done It does not have enough to replace the laptop, and if we have to carry a laptop (bigger screen) and an ipaq and a mobile phone (decent battery life), it gets a bit much I was hoping the ipaq could replace the laptop and the phone for users with less technical requirements An area we may investigate is with customised software and a barcode scanner in the warehouse conventional handheld barcodes scanner devices are very expensive, and require no less bespoke programming than writing a program for the barcode reader kind regards Mark Lockett Business Analyst, Schneider Electric, Christchurch, New Zealand Ph: +64 (3) 338 9059 Fax: +64 (3) 339 1702 DDI: +64 (3) 339 1740 Mobile: 021 1944 500 Jonathan Mckeown <jonmc@xxxxxxxxxxx> To: hp.encompass.nz@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent by: cc: hp.encompass.nz-bounce@fr Subject: [hp.encompass.nz] A real quick survey of HP Encompass members about mobility eelists.org technology 2003/02/19 09:53 Please respond to hp.encompass.nz Hello.
