I've really enjoyed reading the email from the SATLUG (San Antonio) list and they've been very helpful a time or two. I think it's nice to have alternate places where a newbie can ask questions. Experience has taught me that it's a bad idea to bug the same people with one's newbie questions every time. Distributing the hassle is a good idea. Anyway, they're having an install fest this weekend in SA. Is that a cool notion or what? I sure wish I could go as a volunteer and help out. That would very probably be a really nice learning experience and fun besides. I'm not even certain I'll be able to make our HLLUG meetings as things stand now but it occurred to me that if we could get enough publicity to justify attempting an install fest, we might very well be able to recruit some of the guys from SATLUG to come assist with it. There are also a couple of LUGs in Austin but I've been unable to determine how active they are. Just thinking on virtual paper.
