Great news! Glad there were no major problems!

Ubuntu 11.10 has no "classic mode" (Gnome 2) by default; just Unity.
However, you can install Gnome 3 after the upgrade is completed. Gnome 2 is
not available in the repo.

I have not been happy with Unity in 11.04 and as a result using the Gnome 2
(classic) option. So 11.10 will be a big change for me! Unity is said to
have improved and I have fiddled with Gnome 3 on Fedora 15. You can
probably relate as you went through the KDE 3 to 4 transition.
