Now that we have the new eBird / VARCOM cooperative review procedure in
place, I am hoping Todd will confirm my PALO report....
The loon is not the only strange bird I saw today; there was a Red-eyed
Vireo with largely white crown feathers at Wilck's Lake this morning. And
there was the little short-tailed mystery sparrow I flushed from the grass
near the dam at Sandy River as well....

Last report was April 10. I just assumed the other teams found him again
on April 26 during the Kerr Lake Spring Bird Count because he was right in
the open between the dam and visitor center when we saw him in the
afternoon. Guess not!

still with the Common Loon. It was not in view when I left. A scope is

Sandy River Reservoir is east of Farmville off US 460. The main boat
ramp / parking area is off Monroe Church Road (SR 640), which turns south
off US 460. The loons were last seen from a small parking area at the end
of SR 605 (Gates-Bass Road), which turns off Green Bay Road (SR 696).
