Brian: Just back from the Congress, and after talking with Syemyen, I can say that the date for required implementation of the gloves in FIE competitions is projected as March 1, 2014. Still only six brands homologated as of now, but more are sure to come. Some are already being marketed with the FIE symbol. Hope that this gives you some useful information. Now to see which way the USFA jumps. I would guess that they would allow a reasonable time for US vendors to get rid of at least some of their stocks, but I also suspect that once the word gets out, people might very well quit buying the old-style gloves and wait until they can get the new ones. Interesting situation. One thing that we know for sure is that they will all be expensive. I know that some manufacturers are already marketing the gloves, but as to a date, well I will have to find out at the Congress and let you know.
