Thanks for all your suggestions. I have gone through them and there
has been no difference. I am pretty sure it's not getting power from
the battery. I tried another 28L lithium, the one I had in the PME
finder, but it was the same story. Could an alkaline battery
possibly make a difference?
This failure had some warnings over the last several weeks when the
shutter wouldn't fire for one or two times, then it would return to
working normally. Then last week it stopped firing completely and
hasn't since.

HELP! My 2000FCM 's shutter has stopped working. There is no
damage to it, no wrinkles in it. The battery tests fine. But when
I push the shutter release, the mirror goes up, but the shutter
doesn't fire. Any suggestions?
