1) Updates

We are open again as of Monday, January 3rd with regular hours

1/1/11 - 2011 HT! Sexy Calendars are in.
Calendars may not seem cool any more with iphones and google, but you're
actually totally uncool if you don't get one of these! The HT! volunteers
have a made a calendar of us doing zany things with power tools, chalk
boards, and kale with little clothes on. Come by and pick one up for your
home, office, or tree house for only $10! (for a couple sample pics check
www.hammertimeprojects.org/news)

1/1/11 - We are soooo broke.
So the other day I was having a rad time chatting with automated phone
robots and paying bills when I realized the HT! fundz are in the negatives.
This is a bummer when it comes to buying tools to make the place a tool
library, etc. We need ideas! New fund raisers? Sustaining business models?
Money for us? Whatcha got???

2) Special Events!
*Open Mic: Acoustic and Readings
Fri, January 21st @ 8pm**

*Documentary Night: The Cove
Tues, **January **4th @ 8pm*
"Academy Award® Winner for Best Documentary of 2009, THE COVE follows an
elite team of activists, filmmakers and freedivers as they embark on a
covert mission to penetrate a remote and hidden cove in Taiji, Japan,
shining a light on a dark and deadly secret. Utilizing state-of-the-art
techniques, including hidden microphones and cameras in fake rocks, the team
uncovers how this small seaside village serves as a horrifying microcosm of
massive ecological crimes happening worldwide. The result is a provocative
mix of investigative journalism, eco-adventure and arresting imagery, adding
up to an unforgettable story that has inspired audiences worldwide to
action."

After a brief history of America's treatment of the deaf and an introduction
to Deaf culture and its controversies, we will dive interactively into the
beautiful world of American Sign Language.

Matt has taken 3 semesters of American Sign Language and is no substitute
for what a fluent or native ASL signer has to offer, but tonight should give
you a playful introduction.

*Free School: Beer & Buttons*

6) How to Volunteer
Volunteer Meetings - We strive to have everyone participate in figuring out
the direction of the projects and how to get them done. Come learn more
about the space and how these decisions are made. Meetings are every Friday
at 6pm.

Regular Volunteers - a "regular" volunteer can pick a 4 hour shift out of
the 2 per day between 12-8p on mon, wed, and sat. peeps can either volunteer
getting stuff done or just doing homework, working on your own projects,
reading infoshop books, cruzin the internet, etc while folks are perusing
the shop. We ask that ya'll come to a few meetings and work parties before
you become a regular volunteer as to learn about how the place operates.

Outreach - One of the most important parts of the projects are letting
people know we are here. A few ways to help out is to hand out/post fliers
and posters, volunteer/create special events, and spread the word! Email us
at hammertimeprojects@xxxxxxxxx to know how you can specifically help.

Stop By! - ‘nough said.
