Likely, the BeOS graphics coordinate system has a goofy design (inappropriate
for use with bitmaps). That encourages off by one things - so likely your
rectangles are separated by one pixel and they aren't as wide as you think. It
also depends on the pen size used to draw the rectangles - a thick enough pen
will hide the gap.
