In regards to web servers, the latest "cool server on the block" is
nginx. It is very fast and lightweight so fits in with the Haiku
philosophy. Maybe with the addition of a nice GUI it could be the new
"Poorman." Though it is "event-based" and I am not sure what kind of
support Haiku has for that.
My favorite has always been Xitami. Easier to configure and faster than
Apache. Doesn't have the breadth of extensions that Apache does, though.
Also, the SSL version requires payment. (Although the license would seem
to permit creating your own secure version from the source code.) And it
even has a GUI (the Windows version does anyway).
A quick search on BeBits shows both a BONE and a non-BONE version, so it
will probably compile.
