The issue is *how* to know which signature could be called by older apps...
Theorically, any application ever written for BeOS R5 could be using
one or more BeOS R5 system's apps signatures.
Wait, I said theorically !

Indeed, they won't see it. What they could see, though, is an app
doing absolutly nothing (or at best showing a alert : *app* not
found/could not be launched) when some feature is invoked by the user.

Anyway, I agree, it's bit overkill, in particular considering the
amount of older apps that we can't fix or that we didn't have yet
*ported* to Haiku. I guess it's far easier to help moving these apps
to Haiku than bending backward that much for pure R5 apps
interoperability.
