Wine is finicky. There is winetricks that will install various libraries for you. By default it pops up a gui, but if you type "winetricks --help" you get some command line options that allow you to install various DLLs. It can also automatically setup various games, but Artemis isn't on the list. Typically, I don't even mess with wine and just go straight to VirtualBox. It has a desktop integration mode that makes it look like the Windows windows are normal windows (i.e. you don't have to look at the Windows desktop background, you can have Linux and Windows windows on the screen together).
