[hackpgh-discuss] Laser cutting inner tube?

I have a friend who is interested in laser etching a logo on a motorcycle
inner tube. Some preliminary searching says it may be OK, as the tubes are
made from Butyl rubber, which they say is OK to cut, but I wonder if one
would need to be concerned about other additives or the like. Does anyone
out there have experience or knowledge about this?
