Hi George --
Thanks for the article -- actually it was just a paragraph which I'm quoting
below:
Regarding the common problem of dial-up passwords not being saved, even though the 'Save Password' box is checked. Microsoft says that this problem is caused
by a corruption of the password list files (e.g. [userid].pwl ). Once corrupted, subsequent password information cannot be retrieved properly. Windows
95/98 bravely stumbles on .. of course without saying a word about the problem. The solution here is to delete or rename the damaged PWL files and then
log off and back on again. Alternatively, a new password list can be created by changing your logon userid.
You may find the answer to your password problem here.

Hi Dennis -- Are you talking about your mailer checking the mail onISP, or your computer just not making a connection? I am on XP Home using Outlook Express for my mailer, and I
also have had this problem. I entered the account info for my newest ISP and email address and checked all the boxes they told me to check on
the dialog, but for some reason I still have to retype the
restartingpassword every time I start up the program. Did you try removing the password and exiting andthe program and then going back to accounts andre-enteringthe password info, then exiting and restarting theprogram?beI know there is some kind of private cookie saved to disk somewhere that saves this info, so just changing it isn't enough -- you have to repeatedly close down and restart toitsure it is saved and reloaded correctly. But I speak without experience as I was never able to getrunning myself, and have just resigned myself to typing itintoevery time I start up the program. Actually, this isn't so bad -- not only is it more secureretype it, but also you are sure to always remember whatyourwhat you did?password is. Good luck, and if you get it working, could you tell me"enable forThanks. --le

Greetings all,
My Windows XP sp1 wouldn't save the password for my ISP connection. I tried checking both checkboxes for "enable for this user" andeverybody using this computer", but nothing worked. Not abiglink:-trouble, I know, but still quite annoying.
Thanks for any possible ideas.
Best regards,
Denis
