Carol,
I miss many of life's sundry beauties and I am sure I miss not seeing
beautiful women such as you, Claire, Phyllis, and Sarah. Realizing beauty
is not simply the outward beauty of the woman but also the ethereal beauty
as well. I enjoy beautiful people and if I make it back to the British
again, I will hopefully be able to look you up and share a meal. I'm quite
sure my wife would love to meet people there as well. Like you I am also
quite hearing deficient so it will make for a loud conversation. I actually
miss the hearing more than the vision. I find the vision loss isolates me
from stuff and frustrates me with the inconvenience of travel, etc. but the
hearing loss isolated except a haughty spirit and I thank God to help me
remain humble that I might continually feel his love and realize my many
blessings. In short I know that God loves me and I am thus able to love and
find beauty in most of those I meet when I look at them from a God
perspective and realize that like myself they are created in the very image
of God.

ah its awful for us all how much we miss these lovely beautiful sights.
had to laugh at you there not being able to see beautifl women like me and
clare sarah and phyllis teasing you there now hahahahahaha
I miss flowers mostly because in secrondary school i loved painting flowers
on a board in nice parks such as tattan park where the beautiful flower beds
displays were there
Teachers entred us for competitions for best painters in school
I copied of a beautiful pink blossom tree
Oh the pleasure I got out of that just loved art in school
Had a fantastic time at Tatten park and we all went for meal after that.
bought plants for our mums on way ut.
My favourite part of seeing too was going on lots of coach tours through
villages
wow the big coaches use to drive through narrow lanes don't know how they
manage it.
I used to love looking outside the coach windows at the scenery and also the
peoples houses in the villages.

I was not born blind, I have some limited vision in one eye now 20/450
and none in the bottom half of that eye. I realize what you are saying
about creating mental pictures of things when you have never seen them. I
might question whether blindness is harder for those who are congenitally
blind (birth) or adventitiously blind (after birth). My question is based
on the statement "You cannot miss what you have never had." I have learned
to navigate au solo in cities I never visited before becoming blind usimg
only my cane. This does require more concentration and use of memory than
when I could travel by sight. I miss being able to see the beauty of world
around me, I enjoy not seeing some of the ugliness of disasters etc.
However, since I still hear and know of the human tragedy in these
situations they still cause me pain. I would definitely choose to have my
sight back to emjoy the beauty of God's creation as I am blessed to
experience it. I miss seeing all the beautiful women that I encounter. I
guess truly I miss seeing the sexy women, as I can still experience the
beautiful ones based on their actions and speech to others they interact
with and many of the sexy ones were not so beautiful after all. So really
not that much of a loss after all. However, landscapes and seeing acts of
love and generosity that is missed.
