Hello All,
I would like to thank Sennjan for returning the snow to our area but I will
send it down to you after we are bored with it.
We have a light covering at the moment but it is still persisting to fall. It
is a bit milder now than it was in the previous three days so it might not last
long.
In my school days, the common objects of discipline, were the ruler,blackboard
duster, cane and strap. Not all used at the same time I am glad to say.
The teacher that used the cane, used it as a pointer for the board, but if you
rested your hands on his desk, he was a crack shot at catching your fingers
with it.
The teachers that used the blackboard duster, used it to keep you alert, if
they thought that you were not paying attention, then it would come flying in
your direction at speed. The only warning was everyone else ducking out off
the way but that was normally to late for the target.
Two of the teachers that used the strap frequently held competitions between
themselves to see which one got the most in a week. They were two sad teachers
and used any excuse to get you. One of them was the gym teacher and the other
was a woodwork teacher and both built like houses.
