Hey there Mike,
I'd definitely be interested in one of those mini speakers. Where do I sign up?

Subject: [gps-talkusers] mini speaker

Sendero has a handful of small stereo speaker units which we are testing. We like to provide a case with any external speaker we offer as we did with the Radio Shack speaker but we don't yet have one for this mini speaker. We still have a couple of those in stock for $75 with case and cable. Radio Shack has discontinued them.

The speaker we are testing is about the diameter of a silver dollar and about 1.5 inches thick. It is stereo but all one unit. It has an eighth inch jack sticking out of it and you can expand one of the speakers to give it a bit more base.

It is intended to put into an Ipod and it works great with the Victor Stream to provide pretty loud stereo sound.

In order to use it with the BrailleNote and GPS, you really need an extension cable with L shaped jacks.

Because it is round, we haven't found a case for it and a custom case may be a bit pricey.

What I have been doing so far is just sticking it in an upper pocket. It isn't elegant but it works.

You can either find this "mini party" speaker yourself or we will sell the 4 we have for people to test and give feedback on the list. The price is $25, first come, first serve. This includes the speaker and extension cable.

If you want something more durable and louder, consider our remaining Radio Shack speakers with 2 wat amplifier for $75.

By the way, the mini speaker has a built in rechargeable battery which cannot be replaced. You charge it via USB.

Mike
