Well, probably everyone knows by now that I too find this part of navigation rather baffling and certainly I don't really feel very confident when giving that part of the instruction to drivers ... (rather too much of it). I do hope Sendero will give this real consideration for us here in the UK.
In all other respects I love my GPS and can't wait to get an M1000 to try greater accuracy at slower speeds. <Smiles>

Hi PeterOh how I do agree! when following a vehicle route it is really difficult for a driver, I would like Sendero's gps to say take the (third) exit as seems to be the case with most systems for sighted people. For pedestrian routes the current instruction is very helpful. I'm migrating from Trekker andWayfinder, and in most respects, I'm finding Sendero GPS anabsolute joy, withso much power and flexibility compared with the others. However, I'mhaving one problem, relating to navigation ofroundabouts. I thinkin the US you call these traffic circles, but here inthe UK theyare everywhere, and it's rare to find a journey withoutmany of them. The way that Sendero GPS gives instructions seemsconfusing. Forexample, at a roundabout where you are actually turningright, itwill tell you to turn left onto the roundabout, and thenturn left toexit the roundabout. It is similar with clockface instructions. It will say to turn ten o'clock on theroundabout andthen exit nine o'clock. What we need is a global instruction that gives you thedirection ofthe road you are taking relative to the road you wereon. Forexample, Wayfinder would say "turn right at theroundabout onto Xstreet", or "take the third exit onto X street" countingexits clockwise. It sounds a llitle complicated when you try to explainit, but it isa real problem when navigating vehicle routes inparticular. Awwork-around seems to be to use the compass directions, but thisneeds quite a lot of thought and ssometimes there isn'tenough timeor clarity.Am I missing something, or could this be a suggestedimprovement?Any thoughts welcome.Best,Peter--*******Peter Bosher, Email: peter@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx http://www.soundlinks.com/ Tel': (+44) (0) 1494 794 797 Fax: (+44) (0) 1494 583 146 snail:// SoundLinks Limited, 43 Broadlands Avenue, Chesham, Bucks.
