A reply to this list will still get gps-talkusers it won't get
the author.
A reply all to this list actually generates 2 emails to
gps-talkusers
list which is also not what you want and causes duplicate
messages (I
myself have done this by mistake.)
There is no way except to copy the author's email address to send
a
message pasting in their email address to them and not the list.

Hope this helps
Charles.

hi scott,
thanks for pointing my error out to me. thankfuly, there isn't
any
personal information in the couple of emails that were supposed
to be off-list.
when asked if i want to reply to the sender only, i've been
pressing
y and just assuming that the message goes to the sender only.
after
checking this out after you pointed out the error of my ways, it
seems that the message go to everyone.
i shall have to be more diligent in the future.

Hi Richard, just a friendly note, your off list messages are
appearing on
list;) so be careful if you provide any personal information.

Thanks

hi flor,
yes, you're absolutely right.
i had my compact flash card in my pk when i did a reset.
i must remember the tip.
my reason for writing off-list, is that i'm just being a bit
curious as to
where you are in ireland. i'm in gwalchmai, about 10 miles from
holyhead
and sometimes go over to ireland on the fery.
thanks for the tip, and don't feel obliged to reply.
all the best, richard.

Richard,

I got something like that once, when I did the pin reset, with
the
Compactflash card still inside. therefore, when i am doing a
reset now, I
take it and any PCMCIA card out before doing so. Works properly
ever since.

Hi,

sorry for sending this message again.
i forgot to change the subject line to something more appropriate
when i sent this message the first time, and so may have deleted
a reply to this message not knowing that it was dealing with this
issue.
