Mike: Do you suppose that it would work with the old GPS_Talk program on a laptop. I still use the old laptop version once in a while, but, of course with the Magellan 310 serial receiver. That way I could use the Earthmate with either the Braille Note or the laptop, thus eliminating the Magellan and its cable. Delorme has released a Bluetooth power pack to fit the serial GPS receiver. It is physically the same as the power pack that the serial cables connect to. This allows you to take the Earthmate receiver component and snap it into the power pack to get a Bluetooth GPS receiver. You of course have to have a PDA like the BrailleNote PK to connect with this receiver. I thought I would check this out as potentially a cheaper option for those who have a serial Earthmate with the original BrailleNote and are changing to the little one pound BrailleNote PK. It does work but there is little sense in going this route. The price of this Bluetooth power pack isn't much less than the stand alone Blue Logger receiver and it is 2 or 3 times the size of the Blue Logger. Why they would even bother with this option, I am not sure. Mike Michael G.
