Hi, The inserted rests shouldn't be a big problem. I recommend reading what I've posted recently and then trying a piece. If you still have a problem we can focus on certain problems and I think I can help you learn how to take care of the inserted rests. Variable number of staves might be more of a problem. I'll have to look into this but I don't think it's changed recently so if it was a problem before it's probably still there.
