Philip,
I believe it is old technology because :
- There is an old tradition that claim St-Joseph is in heaven with his body.
- The staircase took six months to build.
- The only tools used were a hammer, a square and a saw.
- The wood was treated in water (... with perhaps some ingredients).
- The staircase was built without nails, screws or glue.
- There are plenty of evidence that men that lived on Earth in the antiquity
could do things (marvels) with less tools and were more ingenious than we are
today.

Is it old Technology Marc, or has he learned a few new tricks from heaven?
This is a case in point of what I could call a natural miracle, (no
supernatural power), and just a matter of pious faith. There is no certainty of
anything supernatural other than heresay,, Its the sort of event or work,
which if a Muslim did it in a mosque, we could likely say it was a work of the
devil. Likewise, protestants indoctrinated in the oral tradition that
catholicism is of Satan, could justly claim it was a work of the devil..

The Devil cannot create anything out of nothing. Only God. Nowhere in the
history of the world has such supernatural creation ever been recorded except
within and in support of Catholicism. If that was the Devils work, then one
might justly ask, where then is Gods?

It seems like saint Joseph was a good carpenter and wants us to know the power
of the Novena to St-Joseph and to teach us some old technology. See the
attachment. Some claims that the staircase has never been repaired, even if it
is used everyday for the last 130 years.
