Philip said: That the Earth is not heavier than the sun is proved and observed. It's not proved. In fact fire is lighter than rock so the opposite is proved. Also, You can't observe "lighter" or "heavier" you have to to do an experiment to weigh it. Bernie. Bernie, this where we stumble when our physics is lacking and our understanding of "what is observable". I can tell you what I observe to be true in the propagation of television into your living room. But unless you study electronics physics, you will never observe it with your senses.. Did you not read the explanatory link I sent recently? On the lesser issue, you called the sun fire, as though it were flames as in our camp fire. Not so. In any case any sort of "fire" presupposes a fuel. In the larger error you made, you assumed it was necessary to put an object on a set of scales to weigh it. Now if I mislead you, sorry. I was talking about mass.. It is not necessary to weigh mass on a balance or scales by weight. The perturbations of one mass in orbit upon another can determine fairly accurately the mass of the object, given we start with a known objects mass. The earth can be fairly accurately calculated to start with, and from there all else flows. A known 2 ton space craft will not orbit Mars where intended, if the mass assumed as calculated for Mars was not fairly accurate. We know for example that it was based on these known figures for the mass of the planets including the sun, and observed anomalies of planetary orbits that led to first the prediction of other planets in the system, and then the eventual finding of them where they were expected to be. Likewise many moons. Working back from that on known mechanical laws, the central mass of the sun is confirmed... None of this disproves our case of geocentrism. It merely means we do have a problem in finding the physical reasons in support of it. I'm happy with that, because for all its progress, science is still an ass, with many imbedded loonytunes, who want to breed dogs with human heads or tongues spouting wormholes in space. They take Startrek too seriously.. Its the Engineers who do the work, that have their head in place, though I don't quite know how they manage it. Philip.
