- Greetings all. My, life has been hectic (and still is) but I'm hoping to be a bit more active in geocaching, rather than just letting things tick over. I'm now the IT department for Thomas Jefferson School (a private jr high/high school in south county), and I'm getting invlved in school life. I'd like to do a (one off for now) group hunt with students who would like to, keeping it in the south county area. However, a group hunt with only one GPSr (mine) would not be much fun, so I'm asking for help. I'm not setting any dates, yet, just trying to get some agreement in principle, plus any ideas, before I formally suggest the idea to the rigth body within the school. My thoughts so far would be to assign 1 or 2 students to each person with a GPSr. I think 3 to a GPSr shoudl be plenty, but I'd prefer to keep it to 2 (student plus SLAGA member). I'd do all the prep with the students prior (to get them accounts on gc.com, and to work out which caches to go for). Once a list was set, I'd ask volunteers to load their GPSrs with the waypoints. SUggestions for good caches to try would of course be welcomed at the appropriate time. And if anyone felt that they would like to *place* a cache specifically for this, that would be pretty cool too. So, in short: 1) Do you think this is a good thing for SLAGA? 2) would you (personally) be willing to help (in principle, obviously, depending on the date)? 3) how many people (total - students + helpers) do you think would be a good maximum so it's not unwieldy (also note that we'll probably have a few additional members of staff, and we will also probably have use of the (small-ish) school bus for getting around)? 4) any other suggestions as to how to organize such an event Timothy **************************************** For List Info or To make _ANY_ changes, including unsubscribing from this list, click -----> //www.freelists.org/list/geocaching Missouri Caches Scheduled to be Archived http://tinyurl.com/87cqw
