Fellow Front Range Toastmasters,
Hmmm... I did not get the feedback I was expecting. I am sure the limited
response was assurance that we are in good hands, no matter who we choose to
lead us. I am still hoping to get some volunteers and maybe some nominations
from the floor. Feel free to send me your thoughts.
I will reach out to a few persons for confirmation.
I am waiting on a few items regarding our other items up for vote.
Kathleen sent out an excellent picture of our potential official mentoring
process. Our leadership team had some tweaks, but otherwise, loved the concept
of sharing the responsibility between the VP-Membership and VP-Education. The
pass off would be from VP-Membership to VP-Education upon assigning the mentor.
The VP-Membership would find the best fit for the new member. The VP-Ed would
make sure the relationship is moving forward until completion at 6 months. The
tweak involves who is eligible to mentor. DTMs and seasoned Toastmasters
should be "grandfathered" into the process. New members would need to get to
level 3 and enter into the mentor pathway to get to mentor status.
The last item for vote is the dues. We are looking into the financial health
of the club to see if we can reduce the dues and remain fully functional and
flexible in our club activities. This was last done when we lost our "free"
location at Thornton Civic Center. I think the projected monthly rent was
higher than we are paying. More to come on that.
