Well, it's like this.
On one hand we need to run the warehouse in an attempt to keep the
schedule for getting computers ready.
On the other hand, this is probably the worst snow storm we've seen this
year approaching us. Timing is everything.
As it looks right now, from the weather models I look at, reading the
forecast discussions the forecasters use (in two weather offices) and
talking with other Skywarn volunteers whom have good experience in
amateur forecasting (Notice I didn't use local TV stations) this is
where were at.
With a storm this size moving in with the distinct possibility of having
5 or more inches on the ground by 5pm tomorrow and winds picking up
quickly at some point in the evening, I'm not comfortable asking
volunteers to go out in such adverse weather. Points South of us are
using the Blizzard word and local governments just 100 miles away are
talking the possibly a snow emergency.
With that all said, I'm am going to CANCEL the warehouse session for
Tuesday 02-09-2010.
As for Thursday, there is no session as we do not have a Thursday
supervisor for take over for Chuq as yet.
*IF* by chance this thing does not develop as everyone is expecting,
I'll entertain ideas to open tomorrow night.
