well it wouldnt work wifi or witha straight  ethernet connection,i reaqlly 
would like to have puppy linux what time is the wedensday lug meet

From your description I'm not sure what the problem is. Were you using a wifi 
or wired network connection? Wifi is a little more complicated to set up than a 
wired connection, but with both wired and wireless you have to tell Puppy to 
use dhcp (unless you have a fixed address). If you can get an address from dhcp 
networking should work. If you want to have another go of it sometime I can 
show you how to do a frugal install that can coexist with VL 5.9. At the next 
LUG meeting (Wednesday, February 24 at the South Bend YMCA) I'll be giving a 
presentation on installing Puppy Linux.
