Chuck, Marc and Tom met at the public library, downtown South Bend on 5/4/2010. We started the meeting at about 10:00 AM and finished at about 12:30 PM.
The meeting focused primarily on the possibility of marketing a BAN certified environmentally sensitive and sustainable service to the public. The service would guarantee to donors that FGM will use BAN certified e-Steward recyclers for the most toxic components (circuit board) contained in the computer systems the person or company donates to us. The FGM would charge a premium for the service. BAN e-Stewards certify that toxic electronics are not shipped overseas for disposal. The primary issues regarding starting such a service are cost, revenue and marketing. The committee will do research to clarify the issues and report findings to the Board.
