There may be better software out there, slinkydetect is fairly old (2003). I haven't found it yet though.

Slinkydetect would be useful and we could have the generated machineID# go to the barcode # of each system that we assemble. It would make for a good way of logging each system incase someone at some point in time has a hardware failure we can just look them up and know exactly what is in that
system and will know which parts would be needed to repair it.
