Andreas, Richard, and Others
Licensing has been a regular topic of conversation at the User Conferences for
several years. Of late, we have taken actions based on these conversations. The
most specific ones are:
1. We have created a document that covers all internal part numbers and model
codes for our internal use.
2. We will run a presentation session at the upcoming User Conference in New
Orleans in May of this year.
3. For current purchases, we have simplified the licensing based on feedback
from clients, for example, Andreas.
Because these details are commercially sensitive, we cannot discuss this in an
open forum. However, we agree that our clients must understand what they are
buying. To facilitate that, we intend to create an overview / cheat sheet and
make it available through the GCS website as we do other sensitive information,
e.g., our lifecycle data.
Would this form of distribution meet the need?
We expect to have a draft prepared and posted no later than April for comment.
To be specific with regard to Andreas' request, we do not yet have the summary
he's requesting. That would be part of the material prepared by April. In the
meantime, the best resource is the appropriate account representative. We
understand the frustration that generates and we are taking actions as
described below.
Your thoughts are welcome.
Best,
Alex
