Hello Rick,
I do not feel alone anymore! At least two people facing Licensing issues but
everyone is involved in that topic.
May be that others get better answers or ...
Just a test for the Management (feel free to forward to your Manager ;-)
because it is a management topic) :
How do you record which Microsoft User CAL is being used by which User?
How do you record which Microsoft Device CAL is being used by which (Client)
device (computer or whatever)?
Microsoft or a proxy (Consulting company) will ask you specific at your records
within an audit.
This topic is on top on the Foxboro licenses. Anyway it is "fun".
Regards,
Andreas

BUMP #2 --
This original question was posted back on Nov 29 - I bumped the thread
yesterday morning.
I would expect that there could be some reply on this topic from the Foxboro/SE
folks that monitor the list.
Even if the response is - "We do not have this document prepared, but one is
being reviewed. We hope it will be posted here and thru the support web site
by the end of this month"
Thanks-
Rick T

In looking at the freelist - I see that this topic was never replied to.
We have recently started to move towards an EVO system. Licensing has been a
very confusing topic during this process - even for the S-E personnel involved.
An answer to THIS POST would be very helpful.
Happy New Year to all on the list --

Subject: [foxboro] official list and description of (all) Foxboro Evo licenses
available
Hello!
I would like to get an overview about the available license options for Foxboro
Evo systems including Wonderware components.
The list should include the Part-Number, short name of the license, long and
helpful description and also the link to the use case (or for which hardware is
it needed)?
BuyAutomation does not fit because I missed licenses in BuyAutomation which are
available in a current offer on my desk.
Is there anyone familiar with licenses and can provide such a list?
(I do not ask for the price tags because I can access BuyAutomation.)
Please respect my wish and do not send hints like "Please ask your Sales Rep.!".
"My" sales representative will answer all my questions but this is not what I'm
looking for!
Is there anyone beside me interested in discussing the topic?
Questions about licenses are not a hot topic in this list. Others will have
more experience with it. Please do not hurt me for asking such a beginner
question.
Andreas
