Hi Sheri
this may be no help
but when playing with ecb's in gateways i formed a habit of
delete/undeleting downstream blocks
it seemed to help similar symptoms

Subject: [foxboro] RIN blocks from HART tertiary variable & fourth
variables keep smurfing/unsmurfing

Hi List, =3D20

Anyone using HART communications via RIN blocks in which the PNT_NO =3D3D
=3D
TV
(tertiary variable) or PNT_NO =3D3D FV (fourth variable)? Both belong to
the same parent ECB201. Please help. =3D20

We went for a really long stretch of NO SMURFs from 1/17/05 - 2/26/05.
Then on 2/26/05 then I "accidentally" clicked "DONE" in the ICC on the
parent ECB201. Immediately the RIN blocks for TV and FV smurfed and
began repeatedly smurfing/unsmurfing. Then miraculously unsmurfed for
an entire ~48hours. But as of this morning the the RIN blocks started
repeatedly smurfing & unsmurfing as frequently as every few seconds but
some times only every 5 - 10 minutes.

The period and phase are different for each RIN block. =3D20

Note that the primary variable of flow is being read as PNT_NO =3D3D
current, so there is no interruption in our process flow. But our
process is considerably upset because we are using the TV and FV
variables in enthalpy calculations.

TAC is notified. No resolution yet. And we are very concerned about
our process. Can anyone suggest how to troubleshoot why the digital
communication is not working? The 4-20 signal is fine. =3D20

THANKS VERY MUCH.
