We have a similar setup and I ended up using the Alias configuration in the
AIM OPC Configurator to get the " Compound:Block.Parameter" instrument tag
required for redundancy with OSIPI..
So, the AIM OPC Configurator on say SRVname1 has name as "
Compound:Block.Parameter" and the item path as " SRVname1\
Compound:Block.Parameter"
And for AIM OPC Configurator on say SRVname2 has name as "
Compound:Block.Parameter" and the item path as " SRVname2\
Compound:Block.Parameter"

And for PI the instrument tag will be just the " Compound:Block.Parameter"

The little painful part is when adding tag in OSIPI we need to add it to both
the Alias Configs..
One can use a XML editor to modify the alias configuration in bulk.

Thankyou

Hi,
I'm not sure what EVO exists of, though if build on WW system platform you can
think of using the new sys platform OPC ua client or older opc da client
connecting to the osi PI HDA server. Redundancy is part of the sys platform
functionality. With the opc ua client you don't care anymore about DCOM.
You might also think about a opc redundancy broker solution from kepware or
matrikon. But, the system platform client solution comes cheaper without extra
modules.

Using your AIM opc server solution, requires the opc client to tell the opc
server which Host system to connect to.
