Terrence,
Right you are.  I was using a fill color on a box that was not filled.  I
was wrong to say it smurfed, I actually wasn't getting a fill and
incorrectly assumed that the edge was smurfed(It's hard to see the thin
border at my age).   Thanks for the help.
