Omar,
Is it stated as FD30 or MG30 in SMDH?
For an MG30 or MG3B, the Eeprom contains the Modbus protocol handler. If it is
a FD30, the Eeprom does not have a protocol handler and needs to be installed
separately. The protocol handlers for a FD30 and FD3B are NOT compatible. They
are compiled against the libraries of the Eeprom which are different for a FD30
and FD3B.
Make sure that you have the correct protocol handlers when migrating from a
FD30 to a FD3B. The type of protocol handler used is listed in a text file. In
the folder /usr/fox/sp/files/addresses there is a file called addr.<letterbug>.
Open that file with a text editor and look for the line containing IMAGE186.
The string after that line contains codes which identifies which type and
version it is. Sent this information to an Invensys representative and he can
provide you the correct version of the protocol handler.
BTW: When you have received the new floppy images with the protocol handler, be
very precautious when installing. It will go thru all available integrators one
by one and you have to select 'cancel' for the ones where you do not want to
install the new version (otherwise you may overwrite an existing installation
of another integrator with another type of protocol handler).

Greetings Ladies and Gentlemen,
We have a failed gateway that we are trying to replace. When trying to install
another GW30B, it didn't work. When we checked the system monitor, it showed us
GW30A. In other words, we have a mismatch. The GW is physically 30B but has
been configured as 30A. I would appreciate any assistance in how to resolve
this issue.
