hi What you are asking for is called Disk Concatenation. The only nastiness,I think, is that the existing mirror must be stopped; the primary disk extended; then the whole set needs to be re-mirrored I don't know about any online stuff but this is all explained in the hard copy documentation shipped with mirrored drives or in B0192ND - Solaris Administration Guide. wrb > > >I'm thinking of adding two 18 GB external mirrored SCSI hard drives to our >AIM*Historian AW51E so that we can increase our historian storage space. >We >already have 2 mirrored 9 GB external SCSI drives. How difficult is this >to >do? Does Foxboro provide instructions anywhere on-line for this? A quick >search didn't turn up anything. Do you have to do anything really nasty >like reformat the existing mirrored drives? How do you get the new drives >to be on the existing /opt partition, or is that even possible? > >Tim Lowell >Control Systems Engineer >Phillips Petroleum Company, Trainer Refinery >Phone: 610-364-8362 >Fax: 610-364-8211 >tlowell@xxxxxxxx > _________________________________________________________________ Join the world?s largest e-mail service with MSN Hotmail. http://www.hotmail.com _______________________________________________________________________ This mailing list is neither sponsored nor endorsed by Invensys Process Systems (formerly The Foxboro Company).
