Hello all,
I have, yet again, an issue with NetFoxApi. This time it's communication to I/A
Series Historian.
While we transfer from Unix to Windows on several plants there is the need to
get user applications to work on the Windows box and to start gathering data
from the historian (reduction groups) while the historian is still on the Unix
box.
With the first plant this went fine but I'm now doing the same thing on another
plant and the data gathering from the historian (reduction groups) is failing
miserably.
The key difference is the Historian on the Unix boxes. In the first instance it
was Aim* and on the other plant it's the I/A Series Historian.
The program I'm using is the same on both windows hosts and on the second
system the data I get back is always 0 for any point in any reduction group.
Interesting thing is that, when I specify $SAMPLE instead of REDUCE I do get
live data back.
On the second Windows host the user application happily communicates with the
correct historian, returns back all the reduction groups on that historian, all
points in each reduction group and also the reduction group actions like avg or
sum or whatever but never any values. The values are always 0.
To get the data out of the reduction groups I use GetHistData as per NetAPI MFC
Class specifications using method 2 (This method applies to I/A Series and
AIM*Historian instances.)

Is there any way, on the Unix box, to check if the call to the I/A Series
historian is correctly processed?
Or has anyone done something simular and got it to work?
