The town Manager and the Town Lawyer have copies of all three types of
leases used at the Taos Airport. I have also given them leases from several
other airports that would work for Taos. Last summer I collected per square
foot prices for land use form several airports as well as a study by AOPA
on typical lease rates. I also generated a basic building requirements plan
for hangar construction here in Taos. The issue is one thing: when will the
town attorney have time to generate the contracts? I sat down with the Town
attorney in Feb 23 and Mar 23. I have met with the Town manager and
Assistant Town Manager about every two months for the last two years. What
you need to do is generate a letter signed by as many Taos pilots as
possible and petition the Town for the contracts and permission to build
hangars.

I'm trying to assemble a briefing document for TPA members: what do
standard agreements tend to look like, what's the current state of the
lease agreement the town is working on, what open questions might there be
w.r.t. leasing issues here in Taos, etc.
