I can set up a getting started FAQ on the web site no problem. What I
need now are some frequently asked questions...

Good to hear about Abi.

Hi Julian
Some of these e.g. the insert image you have already covered in previous
emails. Is it possible to add all these responses together as FAQ? I
know I am being lazy expecting you to set up a database of FAQ for me
but for those who enter into this dialogue later or the people like me
that cant be bother to troll through all the flashxmlengine emails (half
dozen/month?) it would be a useful way forward and also aid the Help
function.

As an aside Abi the trainee English teacher who used Xerte to do her
shopping project for foreign students gained a distinction for her
project -well done Xerte!
Paul

>For instance, when the user wants to insert an image, the path of the
image to be inserted needs to be typed manually rather than from a 'file
browse' dialog box as is the standard.
You can drag and drop the file into either the page you want to add it
to, or to the icon you want the path setting in. This will copy the
image into the project's folder, and present you with options to resize
it, and ask where you'd like it positioned. Likewise, you can do this
for sounds, movies, all supported graphic formats and swfs.

>Similarly, colour code of text needs to be specified manually rather
than from a colour palette.
Yes, it does for now. I might write a small colour picker for the tools
menu (I've wanted one for other reasons). As the tools menu is easily
extensible, this shouldn't be difficult.

>Only those properties of an icon can be deleted which are in the drop
down box. User defined properties cannot be deleted.
I'll fix that, as the alternative is to turn off custom properties.
We've only just added that functionality so that's a good catch -
thanks.

>Preview command, when selected from the View menu, does not work.
Fixed.

Changing the position of text and images did not take effect some times.
>can this be reeproduced reliably so I can try and fix it?

>Drag and drop activity requires the user to calculate coordinates of
drop target which is not user friendly.
No. select the target area response, and press shift F5. You can then
drag the area around, and resize it using the resiae handle.

Thanks,

Julian
