Why do you need to bother installing a second domain? What are the
requirements of the new spin-off?

Subject: [exchangelist] simple(?) question

http://www.MSExchange.org/

This may not fall strictly within this newsgroup, but I bet some of you know
the answer.

We are a small company, 1200 users, Win 2000 Domain, 1PDC 3BDC's 1 Exchange
Server (2K sp3), 35 servers total.2 administrators (me & another guy do all
head cook and bottle washer administration for the domain)
Scenario:
We may have to spin off a part of the company, yet they would still fall
under us.
Is it possible to create a sub domain, with its own PDC. This Domain would
have would have its own PDC, but not BDC's (I have no servers to spare). I
would need to have the child domain utilize WINS & DNS from the parent
domain (they would stay within the IP network), also Exchange would have to
be able to service this child domain. (I have licenses to Install another
Exchange 2003, but it would have to reside on the PDC).
I'm probably forgeting something here, but I think you get the picture.
Is it possible?
I don't have any SBS' Licenses...
