You might want to check and make sure that the second server (?) is
allowed to relay off the first server. Even though you configure the
first server as the gateway, you will need to tell it to allow relay
from the second server.

Subject: [exchangelist] Problems with sending mails out from a second
Exch2k box

Hi all,

i have a slight problem here. I have two exchange servers in my
organisation. On the first server i can send and receive mail both to
internal receipients and to external recipients without any problem

On the second server, i have configured the IP address of the first
server to be a smart host to the second server, hence all mails going
out of the domain are meant to send mails out via the first server

on the second server i can send and receive mails to internal recipients
without any problem, but when i send mails to recipients outside the
domain i get an NDR #5.7.1 error, i have checked my configuration but
cannot find anything wrong

funny enough i can receive mails sent from the internet to this

could anyone please help with this problem
