Hello, What are you trying to achive? The underlying method of connecting to a Port is no different wether is coming from another SMTP server or from a Telnet client. It is not application specific. If you want to receive mail and you are worrying about relaying or some other security issue, then you have to take measures to secure your smtp service. It is supposed to be easy to find mail servers. It is also supposed to be hard to exploit them for purposes other than what the owner of the server intended.
