Outgoing mail

I've had a problem sending emails to certain domains which I haven't
quite solved yet. I thought it was a domain issue but that worked out.
I got this message back today: There was a SMTP communication problem
with the recipient's email server. Please contact your system
administrator.
<"myserver.local" #5.5.0 smtp;553 sorry, that domain isn't
in my list of allowed rcpthosts (#5.7.1)>
Why wouldn't some mail not be authorized...I'm not on any blocking lists
that I could find.
Any Ideas?
